¿Quién no se la jaló alguna vez leyendo El Mil Chistes? ¿Quién no la llegó a comprar todo asustadillo y con la pilinguilla parada mientras la ñora del estanquillo miraba incrédula la media cartilla militar falsificada del hermano mayor del amiguito más pendejo del barrio? ¿A quién no le quitó uno de estos pasquines el caliente del director de la ETI 8 y nunca más se los devolvió?

Snif, qué bonitos tiempos aquellos en que aún no dábamos con el escondite secreto de los Playboys de papá, el peso mexicano tenía 3 ceros de sobra y el precio pacto de la revista era de $970 bolas en vez de $1000. ¡Cuántos treinta centavitos ahorré en mi alcancía de forma de perro Bull Dog que me gané en una kermes gracias a la visión y genialidad económica del presidente Carlos Salinas de Gortari, snif.

De hecho, si esta generación descarriada de hombres de la que me tocó ser miembro exige mujeres chichonas y nalgonas, culpen al Mil Chistes.

Pero los chavos de aquel tiempo -época en que decíamos "¡Qué paike!" en lugar de "¡Qué chido!"- no sólo leíamos esta publicación por las viejas pechugonas y en lencería que salían en la portada y en todas las páginas del interior; no, no, no. También las leíamos por los artículos y por la fina y poética redacción de las situaciones chuscas que manejaban los guionistas profesionales y con maestrías en Harvard y en la Universidad del Caballo Rojas.

Por ejemplo, leyendo El Mil Chistes aprendí palabras y frases que me han servido para abrirme paso con éxito en este mundo matraca, como por ejemplo: "Luego de calenturiento show, la mordisqueable encueratriz Marisela...", "Era una encamable damita...", "... barría la banqueta una ensalivable gatubela llamada Lencha", "Rechinando el catre estaba la esposa de Don Cornelio cuando...", "El clima está de pelos para alborotar la hormona de las muchachas borrachas...", "... íbamos a una playa a ligar tortita extranjera..." entre otras maravillas de la decencia y las buenas costumbres.

Doce cosas que los mexicanos sí somos | Animal Politico

Los primeros días de febrero han avivado cierto espíritu por la defensa de lo que los mexicanos somos y no somos. Y todo esto viene a cuento por los ánimos enardecidos que han provocado los comentarios volcados en el programa inglés especializado en autos Top Gear.

Y éste no es el primer caso. Veamos la lista breve, pero escandalosa:

* En mayo de 2006, durante un programa de televisión italiano Tiziano Ferro aseguró que en México es imposible encontrar mujeres bellas, pues “tienen bigotes… y quizá la única que se salva es la actriz Salma Hayek”. Esto ocasionó la molestia de muchas mexicanas lo que provocó que el cantante pidiera una disculpa pública para México.

*El martes 14 de abril de 2009, la cadena de comida rápida Burger King cambió su campaña publicitaria donde ofendió al gobierno de México por denigrar los símbolos patrios y la imagen de los mexicanos al promocionar su hamburguesa “Texican Whopper”, pues en el cartel aparecía un vaquero alto junto a un hombre bajo y robusto disfrazado de luchador con máscara y traje de la bandera de México.

*En 2007, el programa Big Brother de Australia tomó a la bandera mexicana como fondo para uno de sus concursos en el que los participantes debían lanzar frijoles y tomates a los contrincantes. Eso no fue todo. Los australianos confundieron el orden de los colores de la bandera mexicana y hasta dijeron que México se había independizado de…¡Estados Unidos!

Y estos son sólo algunos casos en los que nuestro “orgullo mexicano” ha salido malherido… Pero bien, qué es lo que nosotros, mexicanos, sí aceptamos que somos.

La Encuesta valores. Diagnóstico axiológico México, realizada por el Centro de Investigación para el Desarrollo (Cidac), revela las doce estrellitas que nos colgamos sin pena alguna:

1.- Transparentes: 80% considera que es incorrecto “quedarse callados si les dan cambio de más”; 78% que lo es “meterse en la fila” y 66% “inventar excusas para no quedar mal”.

2.- Exigentes: 53% cree que las “autoridades son arbitrarias” y el 83% que a las autoridades hay que pedirle cuentas.

3.- Pasados de lanza: 40% cree que es de “tontos cumplir la ley cuando no hay consecuencias de incumplirla” y 41% cree que es de “tontos cumplir la ley cuando la mayoría no la cumple”.

4.- Sospechosistas: 71% cree que la mayoría de las leyes “están hechas para proteger a los poderosos”, así como el 57% cree que “los ricos se aprovechan más de los demás”.

5.- Creyentes de la palanca: 56% considera que “sin buenos contactos es difícil avanzar en la vida”.

6.- Competitivos: 62% de los hombres consideran que “es bueno competir con un compañero por un ascenso”, mientras que en el caso de las mujeres, el porcentaje es del 51%.

7.- Trabajadores, sí, pero por necesidad: 69% considera que “lo más importante del trabajo es que da para vivir”, mientras que uno de cada tres afirma que “no importa cuánto trabajen, porque nunca logran tener todo lo que quieren”.

8.- Timoratos: Al 32% les emociona “tomar riesgos”, mientras que el 43% sienten angustia cuando los toman.

9.- Emprendedores de bajo riesgo: El 73% dijo que “si tuvieran el dinero suficiente empezarían un negocio”, aunque sólo el 46% dijo que prefiere “la emoción de un negocio propio”.

10.- Ni tan machos: 80% cree que la “mujer tiene la misma posibilidad que el hombre para salir adelante en la vida” y el 67% no está de acuerdo con que el hombre es superior a la mujer.

11.- Pro sexo responsable: 74% se manifiesta a favor del uso de anticonceptivos.

12.- Laicos: El 62% de los mexicanos coincide en que es “mejor que las iglesias no influyan en el gobierno”.

La encuesta fue aplicada a mil 200 personas mayores de edad. El estudio del CIDAC mide la propensión al progreso basada en la tipología de los 25 valores culturales del Instituto de Cambio Cultural de la Escuela Fletcher de la Universidad de Tufts.
